My name is Ilze, and I’m the owner and cat sitter behind “Visit a Cat.” I started cat sitting in 2019 as a little extra alongside my corporate job – but it quickly became so much more. Since then, I’ve cared for countless cats (as well as a few rabbits, hamsters, and even a lizard!) across Brighton and Hove. Many of them—and their lovely humans – have become regular clients.
At home, I share my life with Garfield, my affectionate 15 – year-old cat. Growing up, I was always surrounded by animals – from cats to a pair of guinea pigs – and I’ve carried that love with me into adulthood. Now, my daughter, who occasionally joins me on visits, shares that same passion for animals, especially cats.
“Visit a Cat” is more than just a cat-sitting service—it’s me, caring for your cat as if they were my own.

Here’s what you can expect from our visits:
- Friendly and caring approach.
- One home visit a day.
- No cost “Meet and greet” service.
- Daily updates and photo from your pet.
- Up to 3 cats per visit with no extra charge.
- Taking in mail/parcels.
- Day visits are carried out between 07:00 – 15:00

Cancellation policy
I want that you can feel flexible with your time away, therefore full refund is issued, if cancelled before noon one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward. No refund is payable if the booking is cancelled on or after the start date.
What you should know
How It Works
Each visit lasts around 20 minutes and includes feeding, refreshing litter trays, playtime, and cleaning up any messes – such as if your cat has been unwell. If you would like a longer visit, please, book an extended visit that lasts 40 minutes.
I can administer oral medication if needed. However, I’m unable to cater for cats requiring medication at strictly timed intervals, due to the flexible nature of visit schedules.
I care for up to 3 cats per household for the same fee. Additional cats or other small pets (e.g. rabbits, hamsters, reptiles) are charged at £5 extra per pet.
Meet & Greet
Before any booking, I offer a free Meet & Greet visit – this gives us a chance to get to know each other. You’ll walk me through your cat’s routine, and I’ll collect your keys. If you’re unable to hand over keys during this visit, we’ll agree on a safe drop-off location or another arrangement.
Payment & Pricing
- Payments are made via invoice.
- A 50% deposit is required before the first visit, with the remaining balance due after the final visit.
- You’re also welcome to pay the full amount upfront, if preferred.
- Bank Holidays & Festive Periods (Christmas, New Year, Easter): £20 per visit, and only one visit per day is available on these dates.

When filling out the “Book Your Visits” form, please include your postcode, so I can confirm availability in your area.
Unfortunately, I’m not currently able to cover the following areas:
Ovingdean, Westdean, Withdean, Coldean, Falmer, Portslade.
